Port Arthur LNG receives proclamation from the City of Port Arthur

December 7, 2023
Season of Giving 1

At Sempra Infrastructure, the way we do business is guided by a set of principles called the SI Way. One of these guiding principles is sustainability, which drives us to be responsible stewards of the environment and active contributors to the communities where we operate. This guiding principle is not just part of our corporate ethos; it is a lived experience in every project we undertake and every decision we make.

Through our Port Arthur LNG project, we were able to collaborate with Bechtel and the Port Arthur News to host the third annual Season of Giving grant awards. Through this program, more than 40 local non-profit organizations received grants to help fund essential programs, health services, food distribution efforts and toy drives for those in need in Port Arthur, Sabine Pass, and other communities in Jefferson County, Texas. Organizations like the United Board of Missions and the Southeast Texas Food Bank plan to use the Season of Giving grant to purchase toys and other gifts for approximately 700 children in Jefferson County and to help fund food distribution efforts in Port Arthur to help support over 250 underserved families.

Our dedication to environmental stewardship and community well-being has not gone unnoticed. We were honored to receive a proclamation from the City of Port Arthur in recognition of our annual Season of Giving initiative. This recognition is an achievement both Sempra Infrastructure and Port Arthur LNG and recognizes our commitment to investing in initiatives that have an impact on improving the overall safety and health of our communities through service and contributions to those in need.

“We are committed to making a positive impact in our communities”, said Kelly Prasser, director of external affairs at Sempra Infrastructure. “The Season of Giving initiative is an effort underpinned by our core value of championing people, and we are proud to be working with so many local organizations that are dedicated to improving the overall safety and health of those most in need in our communities.”

In addition to the grant awards to non-profits in Southeast Texas, Sempra Infrastructure also awarded $60,000 in grants to 11 local non-profits in Southwest Louisiana.
