Port Arthur LNG was recognized with the 2026 Project of the Year Award at the Americas LNG Awards, an industry honor recognizing the most impactful and innovative LNG projects across the Americas. The award reflects the significant progress achieved over the past year as Port Arthur LNG continued advancing Phase 1 construction while successfully reaching a positive final investment decision and beginning construction on Port Arthur LNG Phase 2.

Together, the two phases represent approximately 26 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG export capacity and $25 billion in American energy infrastructure investment, positioning Port Arthur LNG as a major platform for new U.S. LNG export capacity in the coming years while creating economic opportunities across Southeast Texas.

"This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects much more than the scale of the project," said Selby Lilley, regional vice president of external affairs and communications for Sempra Infrastructure. "It recognizes the diligence, execution, collaboration and commitment required to advance a project of this magnitude. We are proud of the progress we have made and grateful to our employees, contractors, partners and the local community who have helped make it possible."

The award follows a year of major milestones for Port Arthur LNG. During the past 12 months, Phase 1 installed the Train 1 and Train 2 main cryogenic heat exchangers, achieved raised-roof milestones for both LNG storage tanks, energized key facilities, including the main powerhouse and control room and completed the project's heavy-lift program. Phase 2 also moved from final investment decision into active construction, including completion of the first mass concrete pour for Train 3.

Beyond construction progress, Port Arthur LNG continues to focus on workforce development, education and community investment. The project currently supports nearly 6,000 construction jobs, including a strong local workforce presence, while partnerships with educational institutions and workforce training programs are helping prepare the next generation of energy professionals. This year, Port Arthur LNG launched the Pathways to Port Arthur LNG Scholarship Fund, awarding 10 full-ride scholarships to local students pursuing STEM degrees or trade certifications after high school. The scholarship program will continue to award 10 full ride scholarships to local students annually as part of the company’s commitment to social value.

Safety remains central to project execution, with every action at Port Arthur LNG driven by an unwavering commitment to protect people, our community and the environment.

"This award reflects the expertise and teamwork demonstrated every day across the project site," said William Gurrola, vice president and general manager of Port Arthur LNG. "Successfully advancing both phases of Port Arthur LNG requires strong teamwork, reliable execution and an unwavering commitment to safety. Our teams, contractors and partners continue to deliver important milestones while building a foundation for the project's long-term success and creating economic opportunities across Southeast Texas."

When complete, Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 and Phase 2 combined will include four liquefaction trains, three LNG storage tanks, two marine berths and associated facilities. With direct access to the Sabine-Neches Ship Channel and integrated pipeline and storage infrastructure, the project is designed to connect abundant U.S. natural gas resources with growing global energy demand while supporting continued economic growth and development along the Texas Gulf Coast.
