Port Arthur LNG Phase 2

Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 is designed to include two liquefaction trains, one additional storage tank, one additional marine berth and associated facilities. The expansion will enable the export of up to 13 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG to U.S. allies around the globe, doubling the terminal’s export capacity to 26 Mpta. The total capital expenditure for the project is estimated at 14 billion, with Train 3 expected to begin commercial operations in 2030 and Train 4 in 2031.

Phase 2 is expected to help meet demand for U.S. LNG in European, Asian and other global markets.

Phase 2 is designed to include:

  • Two natural gas liquefaction trains capable of producing, under nameplate capacity, up to approximately 13 Mtpa
  • One additional LNG storage tank
