Tell us about yourself and your role with Port Arthur LNG.
I graduated from Bridge City High School and obtained my bachelor’s degree at Lamar University in Beaumont. I am the Community Outreach Specialist for the Port Arthur LNG project. My job is to be that neighborhood connection to the community, always looking for ways that we can make a positive impact, be involved in the community and address any concerns, as well as help support local businesses that may want to provide the project with goods or services.
What does your involvement in the community look like?
I am the point of contact for local engagement and manage community inquiries about the project. With so much construction in the area, residents and business owners often have questions about procurement opportunities or how construction will impact their daily lives, so it’s important to be responsive to questions and concerns. I also help coordinate community partnerships and facilitate donations to local non-profit organizations. I attend local community events and manage events hosted by Port Arthur LNG. Since Bechtel is building our facility, I also get to work closely with their Community Outreach representative and we attend most events together.
What do you love most about your job?
My job changes daily, which I love! Every day is a new challenge. One day I may be planting trees and picking up trash in the community and the next I may be hosting an executive tour on our construction site, addressing questions coming in on our project information hotline or attending a banquet representing Port Arthur LNG. Each day and week are different, and I’m up for the challenge!
