Tell us about yourself.
I am grateful to say I have been a part of the oil and gas industry for the last 26 years, 8 of those years allowed me to become a Port Arthur, Texas resident after relocating from Chicago, Illinois. I was given the opportunity to work the construction, commissioning, and startup phases for the Sabine Pass LNG project (Cheniere Energy). And I am honored to have been entrusted with another great opportunity with Sempra Infrastructure, having been involved in all phases of the Port Arthur LNG project.
Tell us about your role as HSSE supervisor.
I develop, monitor, and evaluate emergency response plans, safety requirements, and inspections. My role consists of having the responsibility of safety for life, the environment, and all surrounding communities. I consider myself a Port Arthur LNG (PALNG) pillar to our awesome SI team members and all contractors working at the PALNG site. My motto is – No one should care for your safety more than you. It makes me proud to see the PALNG safety culture continue to demonstrate a “Safety First” mindset.
From your vantage point, what impact is Port Arthur LNG making on the community?
The City of Port Arthur continues to partner with great companies like PALNG to help boost the city’s economy. PALNG is providing jobs for residents and that in turn keeps the doors open for the surrounding small businesses. It’s humbling and rewarding to see the impact of this company on the community and I’m proud to be a part of it.
