Tell us about yourself and your role.
I moved to Vidor in 2008 with my wife and three boys. I joined the Port Arthur LNG team a few months ago and bring with me 16 years of expertise in maintenance and turnarounds to this project. As the Planning & Scheduling Manager, I oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures. We aim to build a world class maintenance team, ensuring we meet all regulatory and environmental requirements for day-to-day operations. My responsibilities include all planning and scheduling activities for proactive and corrective maintenance; while monitoring key performance indicators to ensure we are performing at the highest safety and efficiency standards. Outside of my professional responsibilities, I am active in the community through my church and sports programs. I currently serve on the board for Vidor Little Dribblers, and coach multiple teams in youth baseball. I have a strong commitment to both work and my community.
In what ways do you think the Port Arthur LNG project contributes to the local community’s growth and development?
Port Arthur LNG’s commitment is evident through various community events like the Pasta Drive that resulted in 1800 pounds of donated food, providing jobs, partnering with local schools, Season of Giving, and partnerships with local vendors. As someone hired locally, the emphasis on hiring from the community was important to me when I accepted this role. As a hiring manager now, I too am committed to hiring local.
From a career development standpoint, what opportunities has PALNG opened for you?
From a career perspective, PALNG has provided me with an opportunity that aligns with my values through the team’s strong commitment to the community and employees as core values. Transitioning from my role as Turnaround Manager at another company to my role with PALNG has allowed me an opportunity to be a valuable part of building a world class maintenance team from the ground to implantation, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. The team here at PALNG is diverse in every aspect which has created a stress-free environment, improved my quality of life significantly, and offers flexibility for quality time with my family to enjoy fishing and hunting. The team’s investment in leadership and culture and appreciation for each employee has had a very positive impact on me and my family. I’m proud to be a part of the team!
