Port Arthur LNG presented Julie Rogers Gift of Life with a $10,000 grant in support of their life-saving program. Julie Rogers Gift of Life provides access to screenings and treatments for medically underserved Southeast Texans.
The donation underwrites Gift of Life’s free health screening day in Port Arthur, where more than 30 women received exams on February 6. Kelly Prasser, public affairs manager, and Kelli Davis, office administrator in Houston, got to experience the amazing work they do when they joined Gift of Life at the screening.
“By partnering with the Julie Rogers Gift of Life program, we help to provide vital and life-saving screenings like mammograms, blood pressure, bone density and more,” said Kelly. “This is one of the ways we are investing in making the communities where we live and work a better, safer and healthier place to work and live.”
A portion of the grant also helped fund a brand-new state of the art 3D mammogram machine!
“As a socially responsible company, Sempra LNG & Midstream’s vital community partnership program empowers the Gift of Life’s deliverance of “no charge” medical services, which impacts the lives of individuals who cannot afford insurance or high deductibles,” said Norma Sampson, executive director of the Gift of Life program.
Since its inception. Gift of Life has funded more than 33,000 free mammograms and has helped extend the lives of more than 275 individuals who have been diagnosed with breast or prostate cancer.
