As a company dedicated to championing people and shaping our future, we are proud to live these values by partnering with local organizations to help make sure that students have everything they need for a successful school year. Thanks to Port Arthur LNG’s contributions to three local organizations in Port Arthur and Beaumont, Texas, nearly 2,350 students were equipped with much needed back-to-school supplies.
“These students will be our future leaders, so it is important that we help supply them with the tools to help them be successful,” said Kelly Prasser, director of external affairs for Sempra Infrastructure. “Back-to-school season can also be a stressful time for parents, and we are excited to be able to help empower families with the resources they need to start the school year right.”
As part of our community partnership with Wille Carter Outreach Center and to help kids a healthy start to the new school year, Port Arthur LNG recently join the organization‘s 22nd Annual Back to School Drive in Port Arthur, Texas where 1,500 kids received backpacks and school supplies, as well as kids meals and other essential household items thanks to a collaboration with the local Food Bank.
Additionally, Chosen Generation Evangelistic Ministries hosted their Community Back to School Giveaway event in benefit of 150 students in the Port Arthur and Beaumont areas.
“The Port Arthur LNG contribution allowed each student to receive a mesh backpack, folders, paper, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, erasers, colored pencils, markers and binders,” said Pastor Kellie Reed, executive administrator for Chosen Generation. “We are grateful for this contribution that allowed Chosen Generation to impact 150 kids across Port Arthur and Beaumont.”
Chosen Generation also supports the homeless population throughout the year by providing coats, blankets and toiletries, and provides food boxes to families once a month that are facing food insecurities.
Linda’s Lighthouse also hosted its 7th Annual Back to School Event at Memorial High School in Port Arthur, Texas. The event provided backpacks and supplies to 700 students, along with free wellness checks for the entire family and physicals for students participating in sports this upcoming school year.
We wish students a happy and safe return to school! A big thank you to our community partners for helping hundreds of local children and their families have a great start to the school year.
