Texas Parks & Wildlife Department presented Port Arthur LNG with the ‘Stars in Our Parks’ award, recognizing the project for its environmental stewardship and as a valued community partner!
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department identifies and recognizes State Parks Division employees, volunteers and/or teams who provide exemplary service to the citizens of Texas. Additionally, its specific purpose is to further the ideal of quality and excellence by recognizing those who make significant contributions in the area of environmental stewardship.
Sempra LNG employees and their families volunteer for the annual Adopt-a-Beach event to help keep the 5-mile stretch of beach located in Sea Rim State Park clear of trash and debris. The park, which is located just south of the future site of Port Arthur LNG, is a 4,141-acre coastal park on the Gulf of Mexico in southern Jefferson County.
“Port Arthur LNG’s team continues to support our beautification efforts throughout the year,” said Nathan Londenberg, park superintendent for Sea Rim Park. “They have once again been instrumental in the success of Sea Rim’s annual efforts to educate and empower children and their families to be environmental stewards for the protection of our natural resources and enjoy the benefits of taking part in outdoor activities.”
Together with students from local school Sabine Pass ISD, Sempra LNG volunteers helped collect over 1,500 pounds of trash!
