Tell us about yourself and your role with Port Arthur LNG.
I’m from Sabine Pass but I currently live in Port Arthur. I graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont where I’m also in the final stretch of obtaining an MBA. After I completed my undergraduate degree I moved to Houston for a few years, but there’s no place like home.
What is your role with Port Arthur LNG?
I’m Port Arthur LNG’s Site Administrative Associate. I schedule orientation and training for personnel, coordinate events, communicate with vendors and suppliers for daily operations, schedule and process all visits for personnel visiting the site, and I also assist our Construction Manager with everything on site. With so much expansion happening here, this role is critical.
What’s it like working for a company that you’ve seen grow into what it is now?
I feel very fortunate to have seen the rise of this company from the beginning. I’m from the area, so I’ve seen the impact a project this large makes on the community. Before any plans were made public or dirt was turned over, I heard people in the community talk about how excited they were, and it was exciting for me to know such a big project was coming here. Everyone was talking about how many jobs and opportunities would be available for the community and surrounding areas. I am fortunate to be one of the first few hired.
What has your experience been like so far working for Port Arthur LNG?
I have the opportunity to work with other locals, which is nice to see. It also shows me the company is putting in the effort to give back to this community. Since I’ve worked for the company for less than a year, I’m still getting to know my coworkers and supervisors, but it has been a pleasant experience so far. Working for Port Arthur LNG is a full circle moment for me.
